Sex Trafficking in Fort Myers

Fort Myers’ News-Press is reporting on the raid of four alleged South Florida brothels where women were being held against their will and forced into prostitution.

Women, mostly from Mexico and some of them likely minors, were shuttled weekly between locations in Fort Myers, Homestead and West Palm Beach, females told authorities.

Arturo Rojas Gonzalez, Elodia Capilla Diego, Fidel Gutierrez Gonzalez and Rosalio Valdez Nava were arrested Wednesday by U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement. Detention hearings are scheduled today in Miami. An ICE spokeswoman declined to provide more details about Fort Myers because she said the ring is part of an ongoing investigation.
